Precious Pets and House Sitting Services
Tala Monastery Cat Cyprus
Tala Monastery Cat Park (est 2012) is a sanctuary for approximately 600 cats who have mostly been strays or abandoned. If you are an animal lover with a passion for cats, then this is the place for you. From the moment you walk though the gates you are surrounded by cats of all colours and sizes, all wanting some love and attention and to make your acquaintance. If you sit down you will be immediately covered in cats, all clambering over you and wanting clapped.
Tala Monastery Cat Park is run by a group of wonderful and dedicated volunteers who feed and care for the cats who live at the Ayios Neophytos Monastery in Tala, in the Paphos region of Cyprus. Although the monastery has provided the land for the cats to live on, the cat park receives no funding and solely relies on donations for the running costs.
If you would like to find out more about the cat park, you can find them on Facebook and/or at http://www.talamonasterycats.com/
I met Markos, who is a 6/7 months old black and white boy on my most recent visit and immediately fell in love with him.
It is obvious that Markos, did live with a family, as he is so friendly and actively seeks out human company, however Markos was found in the car park and he soon found his way into the park, where he currently resides in the Kitten Cloister. Markos has not been at the park for long, but has become a firm favourite as he is very playful and affectionate and loves nothing more than a cuddle and a tummy rub.
As Markos is getting bigger, he will soon be moving into the general population of the cat park. He is a very boisterious boy and is sometimes too much for the younger kittens who live beside him, however they all love snuggling up in the basket together for a nap.
I have sponsored Markos for a year and will keep you updated on the news that I receive about him. I hope that you enjoy reading about him and seeing his progress in pictures.
Another family tie
My uncle and family, who live in a beautiful village just outside Paphos, recently adopted a cat from Tala Monastery Cats.
Meet Mac - the newest member of the family
Mac is a beautiful ginger and white boy who is around 2/3 years old.
Mac, formerly known as Dos, lived at the cat park since he was a kitten and had a reputation for being a bit of a "sod" - hence the name Dos! However, I can confirm that having the pleasure of meeting Mac, that he is a lovely boy who is very friendly and affectionate and has settled into his new home and family very well. Mac is a "ladies cat", who adores my auntie and loves nothing better than snuggling up with her.
Mac was a favourite at the cat park, and although they were sorry to see him leave, they are happy that he has found his forever home.
